Evie's Dedication and other Weekend Fun

Evie was dedicated to the Lord last Sunday at church. We look forward to teaching her about Jesus and showing her what our relationship with Him looks like. She wouldn't let Pastor Glen hold her but other than that, she did fine while on stage.

It was really nice to have the support of family and friends as we celebrated Evie on this day.

Since my parents were in town for the weekend, we made a Costco trip (we don't have a membership, I keep thinking I should just renew ours but I think I'd spend a lot of extra money on stuff I don't need so I just rely on my parents' during their visits) The girls had fun riding in the double wide cart in their matching mini mouse outfits from Grandma.

We enjoyed a Sunset walk on the strand on Saturday- such a nice time to beach at the beach- and it was empty.

Just chillin'

While Matt and my Dad went on a bike ride on Sunday, my mom and I took the girls to a local "pumpkin patch." I use that term loosely because LA pumpkin patches are pretty lame in my opinion- just in the parking lot of a mall, very crowded and small. I need to take the girls to Tanaka Farms or some other real pumpkin patch/ farm but it probably won't happen this year.

I have sooo many cute shots of Kylie at the Patch for her first (or I guess technically 2nd) Halloween but here's the best I could get of Evie.

Most of the scarecrows had freaky masks on that scared Kylie (and me a little) I think we stayed a total of 15 minutes- good thing it was free and easy to find parking!

On Monday I drove the girls to Pretend City in Irvine. My friend Julie is a member and could get us in for free. Kylie had a blast! Here's a few of the rooms....

Pushing the book cart around in the library

Playing cashier in the grocery store

Checking Evie's teeth in the dentist office (the patient wasn't too pleased about it)

Calling Daddy from the Doctor's

Picking fruit at the farm

There were lots more rooms and things to do but these were some of our favorites. We'll definitely go back again!

Girl's Weekend

I had been looking forward to last weekend for a looooong time and am sad it's already over. 8 of my college friends and I met up on the central coast to relax and enjoy each other's company. I'm so blessed to have these lifelong friends where even though we don't see each other that often, our friendships can just pick up right where we left them. It's fun that we share so many memories from college and even better that we continue to make new ones. We left behind 9 husbands and 11 kiddos for some much needed girl time. Hopefully we are able to make it an annual trip and so far next year there will be 14 kids left behind...we'll see if that number increases (but not because of me!)

I got to drive up with Julie and Kelly so we stopped in Santa Barbara for some shopping- we all had success at Nordys!

The group- right before dinner. We stayed at the Avila Lighthouse Suites (highly recommend it!), so it was so nice to just be able to walk to The Custom House for dinner (where I hosted and bussed tables one summer)

Saturday afternoon we enjoyed Downtown SLO with of course eating at Firestone's for lunch and then Bali's for dessert

Sunday morning walk after breakfast...right before going in the hot tub
 Love you girls!!

My girls enjoyed the weekend with their Daddy and Grandparents. They got some fun beach time in as well.

10 on Tuesday

I haven't blogged in a while. I'm going to try to catch up with a little of what we've been up to the past month.

1. Kylie LOVES preschool- some of her favorite things include painting, playing dress up, singing and dancing, playing with water, shaving cream, and tons of other messy fun things. Every day I pick her up she's in a new clothes because she's gotten wet or dirty with the first outfit. She comes home playing teacher (sitting on a chair asking me what color sticker I want just like her Teacher Nancy at the end of class) and also sings a wash your manos song from Teacher Ana.

 2. Evie LOVES physical therapy- they seriously have the best toys there so I had to get a picture of her. We only go once a month and thankfully Evie started crawling 2 weeks ago. It has definitely gotten a little more difficult now that she's on the move- Kylie is constantly moving our shoes from the floor to on top of furniture since that seems to be one of Evie's favorites right now.

3. Playing around with Daddy in the morning

4. Kylie and Stevie dressed as twins at Sunday School (kind of hard to tell in this pic but they are wearing matching skirts I made)

5. Camping with the Brazeltons in Oneil Park- so much fun!

6. Tent Time

 7. Still spending lots of time outside- Evie barely fits in the drum, def was a little cramped for her

8. Enjoying Hometown Fair weekend in Manhattan Beach- Matt and I ran the 10K while Sheri watched our girls.

9. Kylie was so excited to go in the Mickey Mouse bounce house- she could hardly stand the wait

10. Not so excited about getting princess hair done- after about 2 minutes she was out of the chair and crying- we were left with a tiara and some crazy hair sprayed bangs

That sums up a lot of what's been going on lately-we have a busy fall so hopefully I'll be updating the blog more often documenting all the events.
