10 on Tuesday

Here's a few pics of the latest...

Kylie enjoys pulling all the silverware out and sorting it

My baby girl is growing! This was the last time she could fit in this outfit (0-3 mo) and today I put on her first size 2 diaper:)

We borrowed a bumbo from The Holmes and Evie has been loving it

On Saturday we went to a bday party at The Art Zone. What a fun place!

Even Evie got in on the action by letting us take her footprint and handprint.

We finally got Kylie a booster and with Evie in the bumbo, it's been fun to all be able to eat together at the table.

On Saturday they filmed a TV show, Wilfred (never heard of it) behind our house in the park. A locations guy came over Saturday and gave us $100 for the inconvenience- score! They made a bunch of fake snow for the scene and there's our gray garage in the background.

And the guy in the blue jacket is Elijah Wood!

On Tuesdays I normally meet my friend Peggy at the Farmer's Market for a little running, shopping, and playing. She had to get her car worked on right by our house today so they came over for a play date instead. Both of her boys are about 6 months older than my girls. Evie enjoyed the attention from Zane.

Kylie and Zachary had fun painting in the backyard while their baby siblings napped. Easy recipe for sidewalk paint- 2 Tbs cornstarch, 4 Tbs water and 6 drops food coloring.

Goodbye Grout!

A few weeks ago we had some updates done to our kitchen. Our kitchen was okay before but the the thing I hated was the grout. We used to have granite tile with a wood paneling in the front and it was such a food trap, very frustrating to clean. So we got new granite put in, subway tile back splash, and a farmhouse sink. I LOVE it all and feel like I have a brand new kitchen! Our workers were great, they did it all in 2 1/2 days and somehow my girls were able to nap well in the midst of the loud chaos.

Here's the before...

And the after...

4 months already?!

Time seems to be flying by. I can't believe Evie is already 4 months old and can't imagine life without her! She has become rather easy going- she sleeps fairly well in her car seat while we're out and loves to smile. She was giving us 8 hour sleep stretches at night for a few weeks but lately it's only been 6 hours but sometimes I think that's almost better because if she wakes up at 6AM- we start our day then. However, if she wakes up at 4:30- I do a quick 20 minute feed, put her back down, and she sleeps til 7:30. We had her 4 month check up today and had some discouraging news. First, she weighs 12 lbs 2 oz which unfortunately drops her to the 10th percentile, she had been at the 25th. The dr isn't really worried about that though but does want me to bring her back in a month to make sure she doesn't drop any more. The discouraging news was learning that Evie needs physical therapy. She has torticollis- a tilting of the head, caused by tight muscles in the neck. I cried in the doctor's office, feeling like a bad mother for feeling like I was neglecting her by not noticing it. I think I sort of noticed it but didn't know it was a problem. I'm not sure if she was born with it or not but I do know she has to spend WAY more time on her tummy and stop napping in the swing. These are the 2 things I've been telling myself that I need to do with her so I feel really bad that I haven't. We go to PT Monday morning where I'll learn some stretching exercises to do with her and we will most likely go once a month until she's walking. Thankfully this isn't causing her pain and I'm glad we'll start treating it soon.

The other evening Evie was giggling non stop, it was so adorable. Unfortunately I didn't capture the moment then but I was able to get a few giggles the next night.

Fun Visitors!

Last weekend Grandpa B came for a few days. It was a great visit and I was really glad to have the extra help because Matt was out of town for work.

Kylie loved playing with her Grandpa at the park, and we hit up quite a few of them- 4 parks in 3 days!

Yesterday my college roomie, Julie, came up for the day with her 2 boys, Carter and Landon. She lives in Colorado but is in So Cal for a week. Here are the kiddos with their fruit loop necklaces (Evie was napping)

Enjoying suckers

And playing at the park- the princesses were trying to escape from the scary lions:)

I Love the Weekend

We had a really fun weekend full of friends and sunny weather. On Saturday we kicked it poolside at the Terrenea Resort in PV with the Holmes. Kylie could not get enough of the water and both moms even went down the water slide. Definitely recommend the food too. Evie was great and slept in her car seat for most of the time...I hope that continues for a while.

Good friends pat you on the back when you're having a hard time (thanks Stevie:) This is after we told Ky no more pool.

On Sunday we enjoyed a beach dinner and hang out time with the Putnams and the Holmes. Alison brought her camera and got some good shots. The boys were definitely outnumbered- 7 to 3. Here's all the girls.

I heart this one of Evie and Matt

Kylie adores Sheri, can you tell?
