Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the holiday weekend in Idyllwild (cute little mountain town above Palm Springs) with Matt's family. We celebrated John's 30th birthday, enjoyed some good food and fun hang out time. Here are a few shots from the weekend.

Best Weekend Ever

Last weekend the 3 of us flew to Colorado for 4 days. We brought the nice weather as it was 70-80 the whole time we were there. We had a blast staying with Julie (my college roommate) and Andy and their 2 boys, Carter and Landon. They were excellent hosts and it was so much fun to see them in their new (ish) state. Some highlights include hanging out in downtown Ft Collins (so cute!), finally getting to go to Real Deals (cheap home decor store Julie is always talking about), watching Landon and Carter interact with Kylie, getting a mother's day massage (gift from Julie), going out to dinner with no kids, biking, running, swimming, discovering Noosa yogurt (made in Ft Collins but sold at Sprouts, try it- so good!) and so much more. Cute story- we dropped the kids off at the gym daycare...Landon walked in with his arm around Kylie and told the workers she was his sister- so precious. Thanks for a great trip Brazeltons! We are so thankful for your friendship.

After spending the weekend in Ft. Collins, we drove to Colorado Springs to visit family. We had such a nice visit with my Aunt Gail and Uncle Danny. This was the first time Ky met her great aunt and uncle. We also got to see my cousin Chris and his boys, Kellen and Chase.


We drove through beautiful Garden of the Gods and got out to take a few pics.

Like mother, like daughter...we love to sleep in the car. On our way back to Denver with a quick stop in Aurora to visit good friends Adam and Angela Blankenship (wish we had gotten a picture). It was so fun to see their home and celebrate Angela's pregnancy!

A few Randoms...

Kylie sure loves stairs. Here she is hanging out at Matt's coworkers house.


Matt set up his old tent to clean it out. Kylie had fun helping and is looking forward to her first camping trip in June.


Grandma B came for a fun visit last weekend and babysat Ky on Friday. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Mama D's before taking her to the airport.

Easter Weekend

We had a busy, fun filled Easter. On Saturday we drove to Oceanside to hang out with Jim, Rachel, and Jadon. Jim and Matt went to a Padres game that evening but during the day they took us to the San Diego Zoo! It was a first for Kylie and I and Matt hadn't been there since he was a little kid. Wow, impressive!

We spent Easter with Matt's family and enjoyed a delicious ham with Mabel's potatoes lunch. Ky enjoyed opening eggs and eating gummy bears and goldfish. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Kylie in her Easter dress! (it was cute!)

Windy City Weekend

One of my 30th birthday presents from Matt was a trip to West Chicago to go see Lindy (I think the only friend I've had literally my entire life) and her family. Kylie and I had a blast! It was a long flight but well worth it. It was so much fun getting to know her girls, Anna (4) and Britt (2). The last time I saw Anna she was only 6 months so I loved getting to play Uno with her this trip!

This pic is so typical and makes me laugh: Kylie is playing with my sunglasses case and Britt is trying to put Kylie's shoe on. Good to know that by age 4 they are able to smile on cue for the camera!

This was by far Ky's favorite hang out in the whole house. They have a big playroom full of every toy imaginable but Kylie preferred the stairs.

We were so sad to leave but thank you again for such a wonderful, fun, and well needed visit! We miss you already.

Central Coast Baby Shower

We had a super fun weekend in the Central Coast to celebrate my college friend, Debra's baby girl on the way. On Sat the girls went out while the boys babysat and we ate a picnic lunch at a gorgeous winery in Paso Robles. Here are the girls: Kristen, Moe, Cody, Christa, Debra (black must be slimming- she doesn't even look prego in this pic!), Jess, Me, Kel. (And yes, this has been my signature outfit the last few months- I think there are a bunch of blog pics of me in it:)

Matt and I stayed an extra night to enjoy SLO. We ate a nice picnic lunch from Gus' deli at the park right by my old house.
