Shower in Davis

Some of my mom's good friends (Irene, Kelly and Cindy) threw Kylie and me a wonderful shower in Davis. I was even able to get everything back on the plane by just checking one extra bag- gotta love Southwest for not charging you for that!
My mom saved a bunch of my baby dresses. She made me a card with pictures of me in the dresses that said "Hope you still like these." She had cleaned them and they look almost as good as new. They are too cute and it will be to have Kylie wear some of my old digs.

Shower in Bakersfield

I drove to Bakersfield last weekend for Monique's shower. Her baby girl is due one month before Kylie. Pictured here is most of my Cal Poly friends/ former roommates. We missed you Julie! See you soon.

Almost there...well sort of

30 week status update: overall feeling pretty good, having some difficulty sleeping with frequent backaches. Matt is a great masseuse.

so maybe I'm a little squeamish...

Matt and I had our hospital tour today of Little Company. We met in a conference room where the tour guide shared a ton of important info and then put on a little video to watch about what your hospital stay/ birthing experience will be like. It really wasn't that graphic at all, but when they started talking about the logistics of the epidural, I thought I was going to pass out. I told Matt I was all sweaty, my ears were plugging up and I was getting really dizzy. We walked out of the room while I stumbled into a few things on the way. The tour guide was outside and immediately ordered a nurse to bring me a wheel chair. After a few minutes of being outside the room, I felt completely fine again, just like normal. But because of liability reasons they made me stay in the wheel chair for the whole tour. How embarrassing! (and kind of funny too. I was happy to have my camera to document this event.) I've never thought of myself as squeamish, needles don't really bother me, but maybe I am...How am I going to get through the videos they show at the birthing classes??? Hopefully I've gotten it out of my system.

Weekend in Texas

We flew to Austin for Mike and Meghan's wedding. Mike is one of Matt's good friends from college. It's so fun that they moved from DC to Redondo Beach so we can see them often now.
The wedding was at Meghan's family ranch just outside San Marcos and the reception was at an old dance hall. The lights and candles were so stunning. Such a fun night! At the rehearsal dinner, they hired a guy to teach everyone some country line dances so we were able to bust them out at the wedding.
On Sunday, Matt and I drove into downtown Austin for a bit before our plane left. One must stop was Mellow Johnny's (Lance Armstrong's bike shop). Matt's birthday was on Friday and he got some money to spend at this store so he picked out a couple of fun cycling jerseys.
The other must stop was Rudy's bbq for lunch. Because we had accidentally google mapped Ruby's instead of Rudy's, we had to make a few phone calls, got lost a bit, but finally made it. It was well worth the struggle of getting there. Delicious bbq! Maybe the best ribs I've ever had. I'm a big fan now of sweet tea and banana pudding too- yum.
Back at home, we biked down to Fiesta Hermosa on Monday with Jen and Travis and bumped into Nik, Lindsey, and Kobe. What a great weekend!

Getting Bigger...

I can't believe Kylie will be here in just over 3 months! We can't wait to meet her. We took advantage of some great sales going on and got our crib and stroller this past weekend. We have yet to "assemble" the nursery but things are coming together...

Two on Tuesday

We enjoyed some great beach time with Sheri and Tim on Sunday afternoon. We biked down to Manhattan. The boys body surfed and the girls relaxed on the sand.
We had Adam and Angela over for one more dinner last week before they move to Denver. It's been fun being neighbors the last 4 years and we'll really miss them!
